PRIVACY AND POLICY

We Prioritize your Data Safety

Effective Date: August 3, 2026

Reachr (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the mobile application Reachr (identified by package name com.reachr.app) and related services (collectively, the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, process, disclose, and protect your personal information when you access or use our services.

By installing, registering for, or using the App, you acknowledge and agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with these terms, you must immediately cease using the App and delete it from your device.

1. Information Collection

To provide peer-to-peer safety assistance, SOS notifications, and real-time coordination, we collect several categories of information, including sensitive personal and device data.

A. Information You Provide Directly

  • Account Registration: When you register an account, we collect your name, phone number, email address, profile photograph, password, and any custom credentials.
  • Safety Profile Details: You may choose to provide emergency details, such as medical conditions, blood type, allergies, or specific safety skills, which can be shared with your chosen contacts during emergency alerts.
  • Guardians and Contacts: You can designate trusted contacts (“Guardians”) to receive alerts. The App requires access to your device’s address book (contacts list) to allow you to select and add Guardians. This data is only processed to link accounts and is not stored or shared for advertising purposes.

B. Device and Sensor Data

  • Precise Location Data: We collect precise geolocation data (GPS coordinates, WiFi access points, cell tower IDs, and movement metrics).
    • Background Location Processing: The App requires continuous background location permissions. This allows the App to track your path in “Walk Me Home” mode, identify geofence alerts, monitor safety check-in statuses, and transmit your live coordinates to designated Guardians during active SOS events, even when the screen is locked, the App is closed, or the App is running in the background.
  • Sensor and Motion Data: We access accelerometer, gyroscope, battery, and device orientation sensor inputs. This data is collected in the background to enable automated Fall Detection, Shake-to-SOS triggers, and Anti-Theft motion detection.
  • Microphone Access and Audio Data: With your explicit permission, we access the device microphone to enable the Voice-Triggered SOS feature (monitoring for specific trigger phrases) and the Audio Evidence Locker (discreetly recording and saving incident audio directly to secure cloud storage).

C. Automatically Collected Usage and Diagnostic Data

  • Log Information: We automatically record server logs and performance data, including IP addresses, browser type, operating system version, page access history, timestamps of active sessions, and crash logs.
  • Cookies and Identifiers: We use device tokens and unique identifiers to manage notification routing and session authentication.

2. Use of Collected Data

We process your personal information for the following business and operational purposes:

  • Emergency Dispatch and Alerting: Transmitting your real-time location, identity details, and audio recordings to your designated Guardians and emergency groups during an active SOS broadcast.
  • Safety Services Operation: Delivering background services including fall detection, anti-theft alarms, local helpline directories, and localized hazard alerts.
  • Community Safety Maps: Processing anonymous or aggregated incident reports to populate regional safety maps and keep users informed of local safety hazards.
  • Communication and Alerts: Sending critical service push notifications, SMS alerts, and system confirmations via our third-party infrastructure.
  • Platform Security and Maintenance: Detecting, preventing, and addressing fraud, systemic abuse, code exceptions, and security vulnerabilities.
  • Legal and Regulatory Compliance: Fulfilling legal obligations, defending against legal claims, or responding to valid law enforcement requests.

3. Data Sharing and Disclosures

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share your data only in the following limited circumstances:

A. User-Initiated Sharing

Your precise location, safety profile data, and real-time audio feeds are shared only with the specific individuals, groups, or community members you explicitly designate as Guardians or safety contacts, and only when an active safety mode (e.g., SOS, Walk Me Home, safety check-in timeout) is triggered.

B. Third-Party Service Providers (Subprocessors)

We share specific categories of data with vetted service providers who assist us in operating our infrastructure under strict confidentiality agreements:

  • Database and Cloud Storage: Supabase (for secure user records, database state, and cloud assets).
  • Push Notifications and Messaging: Firebase Cloud Messaging (for critical push notifications and real-time alerts).
  • Advertising Partners: Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads (for displaying non-personalized or personalized advertising within the application). We do not share precise location history or audio files with advertisers.
  • Map Services: Third-party mapping and geocoding providers (to render maps and determine addresses).

We may disclose your personal data if required to do so by applicable law, subpoena, or court order, or if we determine in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to protect the life, health, or safety of an individual, or to prevent illegal activity.

4. Data Retention and Security

A. Data Retention Policy

We retain your personal data only as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide the core safety features of the App.

  • Location History: Historical location data (such as paths recorded during a Walk Me Home session) is retained for 30 days, after which it is permanently purged, unless associated with a documented emergency alert that is subject to an active investigation or user request.
  • Audio Recordings: Recordings stored in your Audio Evidence Locker are maintained in encrypted cloud storage and are only accessible by you. They remain stored until you manually delete them or close your account.

B. Information Security Measures

We employ administrative, physical, and technical security measures designed to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, loss, alteration, or disclosure. All sensitive communication (including location telemetry and audio recordings) is encrypted in transit using industry-standard Transport Layer Security (TLS) and encrypted at rest on our cloud databases.

5. User Control and Rights

You possess the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access and Correction: You can review, update, or correct your profile details directly within the account settings in the App.
  • Permission Management: You can grant, modify, or revoke permissions for precise location tracking, background location access, contacts, and microphone use at any time via your device’s settings. Please note that revoking these permissions will disable corresponding core features (e.g., background location revocation will disable Walk Me Home and SOS broadcasts).
  • Account Deletion: You can delete your account and associated historical data at any time. To request complete deletion of your records, you may use the “Delete Account” option in the settings menu of the App, or submit a request directly to vybrahq@gmail.com

6. Children’s Privacy

The App is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect, store, or process personal data from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13 without parental permission, we will take immediate steps to delete that data from our servers.

7. Global Compliance Frameworks

A. European Union and United Kingdom (GDPR / UK GDPR)

If you reside in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom (UK), we process your data under the following legal bases: your explicit consent, performance of a contract, or vital interests (safety-critical events). Your rights include the right to access, rectify, delete, restrict processing, object to processing, and request data portability. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a national supervisory authority.

B. United States State Privacy Laws (CCPA / CPRA)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended, and similar state frameworks, you have the right to know what personal data we collect, request deletion of that data, and opt-out of processing for targeted advertising. We do not engage in the sale of personal information as defined by US state laws.

8. Nigerian Privacy Rights (NDPA / NDPR Compliance)

If you are accessing the App from Nigeria, we process your personal data in accordance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023 and the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR).

Under the NDPA, our legal bases for processing your data include:

  • Consent: Your explicit consent given when enabling settings (e.g., location sharing, contacts access, microphone permissions).
  • Contractual Necessity: To perform the services requested when you register and use the App.
  • Vital Interests: Processing necessary to protect your life, health, or security (such as transmission of SOS coordinates during active emergencies).

B. Your Rights under the NDPA

As a data subject in Nigeria, you have the following rights:

  • The right to withdraw your consent to data processing at any time.
  • The right to request access to, rectification of, or erasure of your personal data stored on our servers.
  • The right to object to or restrict the processing of your data.
  • The right to request the portability of your data.
  • The right to lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).

C. Cross-Border Data Transfers

In providing the App’s services, your data may be transferred to and stored on servers located outside Nigeria (such as our database hosts). We ensure that any such transfer complies with the conditions set out in the NDPA, employing adequate security safeguards and standard data protection clauses to protect your information.

9. Amendments to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, security protocols, or legal requirements. When updates are published, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of this document. We recommend that you check this page periodically to stay informed of our privacy practices.
